Jeez.

I guess I will have to translate this for the rest of you.

Tracey is having lunch today with Jo (Jaybee2000) and Allison (Dartagnan).

It's also possible that Jamie (Jo's significant other) will be there, although the last I heard he was planning to stay away.

Which seemed a very sensible plan.

Imagine the scene, if you will:

A dark Cave. In the middle, a cauldron boiling. Thunder.

Enter the three Witches.

1 WITCH.  Thrice the brinded cat hath mew'd.
2 WITCH.  Thrice and once, the hedge-pig whin'd.
3 WITCH.  Harpier cries:—'tis time! 'tis time!
       1 WITCH.  Round about the caldron go;
    In the poison'd entrails throw.—
    Toad, that under cold stone,
    Days and nights has thirty-one;
    Swelter'd venom sleeping got,
    Boil thou first i' the charmed pot!
       ALL.  Double, double toil and trouble;
    Fire burn, and caldron bubble.
       2 WITCH.  Fillet of a fenny snake,
    In the caldron boil and bake;
    Eye of newt, and toe of frog,
    Wool of bat, and tongue of dog,
    Adder's fork, and blind-worm's sting,
    Lizard's leg, and owlet's wing,—
    For a charm of powerful trouble,
    Like a hell-broth boil and bubble.
       ALL.  Double, double toil and trouble;
    Fire burn, and caldron bubble.
       3 WITCH.  Scale of dragon; tooth of wolf;
    Witches' mummy; maw and gulf
    Of the ravin'd salt-sea shark;
    Root of hemlock digg'd i the dark;
    Liver of blaspheming Jew;
    Gall of goat, and slips of yew
    Sliver'd in the moon's eclipse;
    Nose of Turk, and Tartar's lips;
    Finger of birth-strangled babe
    Ditch-deliver'd by a drab,—
    Make the gruel thick and slab:
    Add thereto a tiger's chaudron,
    For the ingrediants of our caldron.
       ALL.  Double, double toil and trouble;
    Fire burn, and caldron bubble.
       2 WITCH.  Cool it with a baboon's blood,
    Then the charm is firm and good.

It would seem from Tracey's posting above that I am expected to provide sweetmeats and other good things on this occasion, notwithstanding the fact that I will be supping on gruel and rusks 500 miles away.

All I can say is:

Fat chance, ladies!

Well what a kerfuffle!

Due to the party co-ordinator who shall remain nameless but is otherwise known as ALLISON the partygoers ended up at two different restaurants in two different parts of the city!!

After much delay and kerfuffle, the rest of the party arrived at GPK after downing wine at The Gables.  Much food, alcohol, and conversation was had by all and I shall type more tomorrow when I am able!

PS:  Jo swears but don't tell anyone!!

What a kerfuffle alright. Our "secret get-together" turned out to be so secret that only one of us knew where the venue was. Initially I thought this was intended to confuse and disorientate the country gal, but I realise now it was all part of The Plan. Thank Goodness for textability - and being in an area were cell phones actually work.

Lunch was a fabulous brew, not a adders' wing or lizard leg in sight, the only disappointment not being sighting The Weird People. I am told by those in the know, GPK is the place to be to observe The Weird People. Which may raise questions to some over the choice of venue...

A photo to share...
